The Pilot uses 9003/H4 bulbs(high/low combination). You need 1 pair to replace the OEM.

I have had good luck with the Sylvania Silver Stars, and wait for them to go on sale and pick up a pair for about 20 bucks. They are always on EBay also. They are a really nice white/bright bulb for the Pilot.
They just dont have a good reputation in longevity. I run them in my Pilot and Ody.

Can you see that much of a difference on the road at night or is it just the color?

The color is definitely a factor. Whether it's brighter or blue-er or whatever is a personal decision. I preferred the Silverstars over the OEMs and others, but was concerned about longevity. Adjusting the headlights a bit upward was the best improvement, regardless of bulb.

Get your Silverstar bulbs from Powerbulbs in the U.K. That's where I got the bulbs for the Pilot and 4Runner. They send free via mail and arrive in about 10 days. They are the Euro spec Osram Silverstars and are better than the Silverstars sold in stores in Canada and the US.
I've had the same set of Silverstars in the Pilot for a year now and no problems. They definitely throw more light on the road than the OE bulbs. They throw a white light not a blue light. They have won several comparos in european car mags eg. Auto Express

Neither my wife or I would go back to a stock OEM bulb. I bought spares for both Hondas. I figure I am gonna need em

I have about 9 months on both sets. I added a pair of Hella FF75's too for when I really need to light up the roadway. I dont do enough night driving though compared to some of the folks here. I think for ten bucks a bulb they are worth it though.

What I really want is a high output LED H4!

I ordered the 9003/H4 version of the Osram Silverstar for the Pilot. They are +50 bulbs.

I ordered Philips for the 4Runner as Osram didn't have a +50 bulb that fit the 4Runner and the Philips +30 bulb that fits the 4Runner gets better ratings than the Osram +30 bulb that fits the 4Runner. Both vehicles have had the bulbs for @ a year now and no burn outs so far. The improvement in lighting is quite apparent.

Powerbulbs also sent a free pair of side marker bulbs with each pair of headlight bulbs I ordered.

Forgive the ignorance but what is the difference between an H3 and an H4. Clicked on a link and it showed H3, H4, and an H7. Is an H7 even better?

Shape of the bulb, connector etc are different. Only the H4 will fit the Pilot. I know there are some other threads here somewhere that explain the differences between the different types. If you put in the different types in "search" they should pop up.

Here's a link re North American spec Silvania Silverstars. People have experienced an early burnout issue with these ones.

Here's one re installing the new bulbs.

Thanks but I am puzzled. Why do so many pics show H3s and people asking if t=somebody bought the H3 or the H4 if the H$ is the only one that fits the Pilot?

I believe people are putting the H3 bulbs in their foglights and the H4's in the headlights. The H3 does not have the proper connector to be used in the headlights. The confusing thing is that an H4 bulb is also called a 9003 bulb. The use of a 4 or a 3 depending on the nomenclature may be a confusing factor.

Just checked on price of twin pack of PIAA H4s. About $55 but they are labled, " Not approved by DOT. For use on showcar and off-road use."

Do Silverstars carry this discalimer also? PIAA seem pricey at $55 if you can get Siverstars for $10 each or $20 a pair.
