Default New Pilot Drilled & Slotted Rotors Installed

On the "problems" message board I posted that my rotors have been warped for about 6 months with only 13,800 miles on the Pilot - the dealer was not very willing to help get them fixed when he saw my 18' tires and wheels.

Click here for the post on the problems page

This last weekend I installed new rotors and pads (see picture below) that are said to be superior to OEM. When pulling a utility trailer or boat trailer, these should help things be much, much cooler - thus preventing warpage.

Centric Rotors - click here

Akebono Premium Pads - click here

By the way, does anyone think that I could sell my old rotors and pads on E-bay as-is? the rotors would of course need turning, but the pads only have 13,800 miles on them. Shipping would be $40 with the heavy rotors.

Do you notice improved braking? Are there any changes to how the brakes "feel"?

The rotors and pads including shipping to Idaho was just under $300. It does seem that the Pilot stops and slows easier than before too. I can say with out a doubt that the stopping is now PERFECTLY smooth.

If I were to do it all over again, would pay the $285? YES, yes, yes - I was going crazy coming off the freeway feeling the shutter on the steering wheel from the warped rotors...

Default Wow! Nice pictures!

Nice write up and pictures!

Might have to look into something like this for the Pilot's new brake pads.

Since I took the time to look them up, I figured someone else might want the link.

Good job on figuring out what wheels I have - picture below... I only put the new rotors on the front since they are more prone to warping. I noticed that the new Mercedes have drilled rotors in the front and regular in the back. I guess that's industry acceptable - I thought it might be lame at first. They "do" sell drilled ones for the back also if a person wanted to do all four... tvanhouten

I doubt you could give them away. But there's a sucker born every minute and most of them are on ebay.

Nice looking rims! $285 doesn't seem too bad to me compared to what the dealer would have hit you up for. So does anyone know what the dealer would charge just for the front rotors and pads?

My dealer wanted $330 for each axle including cutting my rotors.

I would guess he would have hit me up for about $100 more with new rotors.
