Question Brakes

Got a question for you guys...

I have 49k on my Pilot currently. At 30k or so, I had the rotors replaced under warranty due to warpage. Guess what, I am once again getting a high speed shudder.

I just pruchased some Akebone Pro-ACT ceramic pads. I also have some Brembo rotors sitting around waiting to be installed.

Do you think I should go ahead replace the rotors while I am doing the pads, or should I try the new pads themselves to see if they resolve the brake shudder?

I would replace both at the same time. Why do everything twice. Since you have the Brembos waiting around why not replace them as well. Isn't that why you go the Brembos?

if it is shuddering might as well replace the rotor and pads to save you the trouble of doing it later. If you're doing it yourself, you can save the brembo and just turn the current rotor to specs and use it until its worn. turned rotors should be just fine.

Yeah, but the rotors will probably warp again. On my Tacoma, my OEM rotors warped a few thousand miles after they were turned; Taco rotors are infamous for that. Just replace 'em both and be done with it.

IMO, replace both the pads and the rotors at the same time.

PS: Don't forget to bleed the brake line.
