I was told the first oil change should be at 7500 miles. Is this correct?

Yes, if you are following the normal schedule which most people will qualify for.

Yes, the Honda owner's manual that came with your Pilot specifies the normal oil change interval as 7,500 miles (page 192, 2005 edition). There are additional notes about filters, other fluids, and change intervals under "severe" conditions listed there as well.

Using the "Search" function on this site will turn up MANY threads regarding oil changes in the Pilot.
