Default mobile 1 5w-20

I picked up a case of mobile 1 5w-20 from pep boys. I also still have some some conventional castrol 5w-20 left from my first oil change. I am thinking of switching to synthetic this time. Does anyone have experience with mobile 1 5w-20 synthetic? I can also get Amsoil from a distributor nearby.

Exxon-Mobil discontinue making 0W20 Mobil 1 supersyn as of late '04. They have new line of products such as 5W20 Mobil 1 and different viscosity Mobil 1 extended performance.

Default more details please!

How do I get 3 quarts for free? I found a coupon for $3.99 a quart and went back to get price adjustment. But seems getting 3 quarts for free is a better deal!

Used it exclusively on older cars. I don't know if there's truth or benefit to it, but I remember about 10 years ago or so it was suggested to wait till about 7500-10,000 mi before switching to syn.

The coupon in the calendar says buy three get three free, so a case of six will be around $15. I've built up quite a supply of Mobile 1.

There has been a long standing discussion of motor oil, among other lubes, on the Honda S2000 web site (s2ki.com) with significant contributions by experts including a lubrication chemist. Mobil 1 oils are good, but are blends and not true full synthetics. Amsoil and Redline are true full synthetics with better anitwear additives. I run Amsoil in my S2000 and will also run it, or Redline, in my Pilot after it is fully broken in - say after 8 to 10 thousand miles.

All full synthetic oil have a category 4 base stock w/ category 5 additives such as Redline, Mobil 1, Royal Purple, and Amsoil.

Unless they have recently changed their formulation, Mobil 1 is still a blend. Their new high milage oils might be full synthetic, I don't know about them.
Interestingly enough, Mobil 1 originally took Castrol to court for claiming that their blend was a synthetic. When the court ruled that if there was any synthetic oil in the blend it could be called synthetic oil (who knows why), Mobil 1 decided if you can't beat them join them, and labeled their blend "full synthetic" just like Castrol.
Mobil 1 is a pretty good oil, but not as good as oils like Amsoil and Redline which combine being all synthetic bases with exceptionally good additative packages.
Mobil 1 is probably adequate for pedestrian vehicles like the Pilot, but top of the line lubes like Redline or Amsoil are the only way to protect high reving high performance engines like that in the S2000.
Since I am already using them in my S2, I will go the extra mile and use them in my Pilot as well.
Go here for a bunch of links that will give you more information than you want on oils: http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=195574

I don't know where you're getting your info but your source is incorrect. Mobil 1 is full synthetic although Exxon-Mobil still makes synthetic blend but not under the Mobil 1 label.

My information is from a lubrication chemist who posts on the S2000 web site (e.g. see http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=195574)
The info is a few months old, so M1 may have changed their formulation. If so, good for them! Where is your info that they have done so from?
