Default Air filter

K&N Filters makes oil and air filters for the Pilot. They claim a 10% power boost when using their air filters which seems to me like an awful lot. Does anyone have any experience with these filters?

Don't do it. The oil on the filter tends to foul up the mass air flow sensor... at least that what it does to the Toyota Tacoma as stated from various Taco message boards. OEMs usually work pretty well, just stick with that.

The increase in flow/power claim are for high rpm wide open throttle operation. If that's where you spend your time than consider using a K&N, otherwise pass. Oh, almost forgot, there is one other application, water. If you operate in an environment that includes water in the air filter housing and don't want to run a snorkle, then, again try the K&N. It will protect like paper can not.

In the end, the more you research you do, you will come to the conclusion that auto manufacturers got it right with paper.
