Question A friend just bought a Pilot

A friend of mine just bought a used Pilot with about 20,000 miles on it. I'm assuming it's an '03 or an early '04 based on the mileage. She bought it through a friend at an auto auction, and donated her '98 Exploder to another friend's ministry, so no stealership was involved.

How can she find out if the tranny recall has been done? And if the VTM fluid was changed at 15K? Would a dealership be able to look them up (assuming VTM was done at a dealer)?

i think the dealer is supposed to "center punch" the VIN in the engine compartment, but my dealer hasnt done that for the SRS update, nor the airbag recall on my accord. i didnt get the pilot tranny recall done yet, but i dout they will "center punch" it for that either.

How can she find out if the tranny recall has been done?

Take it into any Honda dealership. They can enter the VIN and check if the tranny recall has been done or not.

Hey Waynerd, it sounds like you may live near Greece (Deltasonic on Ridge Road?) I grew up there, moved to FL in 1983! Too cold up there for me! Wouldn't want to be driving my new Pilot in the snow and salt!!

Nope, other side of the city in Webster, " Where life is worth living" and snow is worth shoveling. We have our own DeltaSonic now. The Pilot does well in the snow with the Michelins. Salt is just a fact of life here.

Where in FL? The friend that bought the Pilot lives outside Daytona Beach. Her Dad lives in Idaho, her best friend lives in Michigan, and her sister lives in Vermont, so I warned her about the lousy Goodyears in the snow. She said she's gonna keep them for now, but may replace them before next winter. She typically flies to visit everyone in the winter anyway.

BTW, her Pilot is Redrock Pearl, too!

I live on the SW coast of FL, near Sarasota. Have relatives who lived in Webster.
