Default Air Cleaner Element replacement not in manual

Does anyone know why something as basic as replacing the air cleaner element is not described in the '05 owners manual, although it is part of the scheduled maintenance? Many other more complicated jobs are described in the manual. confused: I noticed that it was in the '03 manual that is online but I believe the cable that had to be removed on an '03 is not present on the '05.

The air filter element (not the cabin filter) replacement is so easy it doesn't need instructions. No offense intended but if one needed instructions on such a basic service then he probably shouldn't be under the hood anyway
BTW there was no cable that needed removal on my 03.

Uh Yah. Slight offense taken. I realize it is easy to replace the air filter, although this is the first car I have ever owned that required a tool to do the job.
It just strikes me as surprising that :
1) they removed the instructions that were in the 2003 manual from the 2005 manual and
2) the 2005 manual tells you how to adjust the volume on the stereo but not how to remove the air filter element.

By the way AlH, how do you like the DL1000?

The only tool needed on an 03 is a #2 phillips screwdriver, a long one.

Love the DL1000 especially for two-up, for true dual sporting though I have plates on my XR and KDX
