Default Replacing Brake Fluid???

I've never owned a car that required the periodic changing of the brake fluid. The Pilot maintenance page says to do it every three years.

Is this for real?? Why??

I think it is recommended by almost all cars.

And if it is not recommended, then it is an oversight of the manufacturer.

Brake fluid absorbs moisture.
Over time it reduces the boiling point making the brakes less effective and more susceptible to serious fade (not to be confused with the fade of overheated pads)!
The moisture also migrates throughout the system and WILL start corroding the brake parts from the inside.

I've never had a car/truck that didn't require a brake fluid change at some point. My SHO was at 2 years. As mentioned earlier, brake fluid is notorious for absorbing water, and water causes the brake fluid to boil at a much lower temp. Boiling brake fluid will drastically and adversely affect brake performance.
