Default R there any automotive locksmiths in OC??

I need to replace a key for my 06 Pilot. The dealer in irvine wants 65 for the key and another 90 to program it. I saw that I can purchase a key for around $35 from the internet and I found the instructions here to program it to unlock the doors.

I still need to get the key cut and have the immobilizer chip programmed. I do not want to pay the dealer $100 to do this. I have seen on the forums that people are finding automotive locksmiths that will cut the key and program it in the $30 range. But thet were on the east coast and that does not help me here, lol....

Has anyone found someone in OC that has the programming tool and is cheaper than the dealer???

Any help is much appreciated.....

Ok, Well no one seems to have any experience with any locksmiths. And, I called 3 lock shops that claim to do automotive keying and also e-mailed 2 others I found on the internet. No one has called me back or tried to contact me in any way. The dealer in irvine wanted $65 for the key and another $90 to program it plus tax.

I ended up going back to the dealer that I originally bought the pilot from in carson and they made me a key for $90.30 out the door with tax. The guy that cut and programmed the immobilizer forgot to program the lock/unlock function to the car so when I got home i did the steps shown on this forum and the keys now work like a charm....

for the 06 the remote is a part of the key. what the locksmiths do is clone the 'immobilizer code' into a blank that they have. this way your vehicle thinks it is the other key. he locksmith most likely (w/o taking the keys apart) would not be able to use a key w/ remote that you purchase elsewhere.

ilco nd Jet make transponder keys, you probably have to tell them it is for a 2005.
