Compact spare for sale (rim wheel + tire) from 2011 Honda Pilot EX. I upgraded to a full-sized spare. It's brand new and never mounted. Also fits Ridgeline and Oddysey.
$100 shipped to your door, or local pick-up near Allentown, PA. |

Good luck with that......I am saving mine in the garage...did the same thing, got the full size spare too.... but if I have a flat and I am still at home...then I don't have to monkey with the full sized lowering ordeal and can use the temp to at least gimp to the tire repair guy.
My tire people said I should just throw it away. No use they say. My wife agrees, but we still have it! Hate to waste anything!! Would think that it is at least worth the price of steel recycled..... |

Off topic but you guys have the full-size spare on a roof rack, under the vehicle, hitch mount or mounted to the rear somehow? Would love to see some pic.s and read what you've done. I don't like the donut tire either and one of these days a replacement while on the road will be needed, however, I've seen folks lose multiple tires due to road debris or off-road true desert driving so keeping the smaller back-up might not be a bad idea.

Under the vehicle in the original spot. Owner's manual does explain what you need to do to mount a full size, can't remember where in the manual though. A 10 mm socket to remove the black plastic spacer, then just raise the spare. BTW, it is far easier to raise/lower the spare if you remove the rear cargo cover lid. Lift it to about 45deg. and pull it out. That way, you can spin the tire iron 360 instead of having to stop every 180. |

Thank you, gentlemen. Looks like something that should take priority over other additions to my Pilot. A virtual no-brainer. I guess you could use some sort of cable lock to prevent theft although I would love to catch someone in the act.

FWIW, If I was a gambling man, i would bet they'll steal the GPS out of your car before they'll steal a spare steel wheel. |
