Default Help with selling price of Pilot

I'm going to be selling my 2003 Pilot EX-L Sagebrush. It has 62,000 miles on it and is in good overall condition. What would be a good trade in and private sale price? I checked Edmunds, KBB, NADA and they were in the 9-13k range. I'm in northern NJ. Thanks.

For your Pilot, I would say closer to the 13K mark, I just purchased that exact car two months ago, and paid just under 10K for it with 122K miles on it. So yours would surely be worth more than that.

Totaled on 2/9/11 @ 100,700 miles - Spun out on the snow/ice covered highway and collided with the cable barriers.

I'd say you have your answer, if you looked at all those sites. I would recommend selling it yourself if you can, will get the most for it but will require the most work on your end.

Only way you will get a high value on trade in is if you are not hard in negotiating the price for the new car. Dealers will never match true market value for trade-in, they are in the business to make as much profit as possible. And if you try to pull a KBB or Edmunds price then price your new car that way as well, as typically you can negotiate a much better price than that with the dealer (I typically have paid under dealer invoice for my new vehicles, 4 of them over lifetime so far). If you look at the sites the prices from KBB and Edmunds are typically a few thousand over invoice for an SUV.

Hey there! I'm located in Philadelphia, PA. I've been looking for a great deal on a 2003 like the one you are selling. I'm desperate for a dependable and roomy SUV for my family. I would love to see some photos of the vehicle and discuss a private sale. I think I could give you the price you are looking for in cash. I've managed to save up enough to buy something straight up, but I'm going to be poor again once I find the right deal.

I'm currently unemployed, stay@home Dad with another child on the way. I really need a dependable Pilot from a private owner who actually took good care of their truck. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and praying that this could be my lucky break.

Please PM me if you think you would be interested. We can save eachother a ton on taxes doing a private sale too!!!
