Default Wanted: 1-2 OEM rims for our '05 Pilot

Curbed the passenger side wheels this morning on the ice. One is broken / toast, the other just has some curb rash. Would like to find at least one replacement, maybe two. Would consider with (or without) tires. We're located in SW Missouri.

This is the style we need, unless you have a smoking' deal on a full set (ie, a set of four for less than a pair!).

If it makes you feel better, the 06-08 wheels will also fit. the 03-04 wheels while the same style weren't set up for the TPMS sensors.

Check Ebay for wheels.

Thanks for the info! I didn't know about the TPMS difference. I'd been searching eBay this morning, and against my instinct, I called the dealer to price a wheel. I was pretty shocked to be quoted $134.83, and they can have it tomorrow (if I order before 3pm today).

$134.83 (+ tax), for a new OEM wheel direct from the dealership. It almost makes eBay (and the $120 + shipping) wheels a nonsensical choice. I think I need to swing by, and confirm they priced the right / correct wheel. To me, that sounds much more like a steelie price than an alloy price.

I thought those ebay prices were nutz too. $75 for a used on. I paid $100 several years ago but that has a tire on it.

Nice price for the brand new unit. Good for you! TPMS sensor should transfer over from the old rim.

Thinking that price for a new unit from Honda was too good to be true, I decided to confirm before ordering. Sure enough, that price -was- too good to be true. As I suspected, the initial ~$125 quote was for a steelie, NOT for the rim I need (pictured above). The Honda price for the OEM Aluminum rim is $250.

Looks like I'm back to shopping used, and back to the eBay market. I find a LOT of this style rim listed for the '03-'04 Pilot. It's mentioned above that the '03/'04 rim is not compatible with the TPMS sensor. I'm curious if there are any visual clues / differences in the rim, so that I can make sure the rim I buy will work on my '05 (with TPMS).

You may want to look into alloy wheel repair specialists. It is surprisingly inexpensive often when you compare it to buying replacements. The usual deal breaker is just like buying used wheels/tires online. SHIPPING cost. I've had amazingly damaged wheels repaired for both motorcycles and cars so they look like new. See if there is a shop local to you. Pilots with those wheels are quite common and you might want to try calling the local salvage yards for the year and model specific wheel as another source.

My wheel is missing chunks, so I don't think repair is feasible. Local salvage yard wanted $130 + tax, prepaid, they'd have to order it, it'd be a week or so to arrive, and it would be sight unseen. For a similar amount, I think I'd rather buy off of eBay and get a picture of the actual wheel I'm buying.

They can be missing very large chunks and still be repaired. Salvage yards sell wheels every day and they don't do it successfully by selling poor condition wheels. Best of luck in your search.

This rim is missing about an 8" section of lip, about 1" deep. I don't plan on having it repaired. Even if possible, I don't think it would be cost effective.

FWIW, I ended up buying a replacement from eBay. $90 for the rim, $15 shipping, for $105 to my door. The rim is in excellent condition (as pictured in the eBay ad), and even included the TPMS sensor and centercap (neither of which I need, but still a nice bonus).

The local (sight unseen) rim from the junkyard for $130-ish includes neither center cap nor TPMS sensor (rep specifically mentioned this). All in all, I'm happy with my choice. Now I'm tire shopping, to see what we're going to put on it!
