Default DVD player doesn't play recorded DVD+/- R or RW

Hi folks,

DVD player in Pilot doesn't play a recorded DVD-R or DVD+R (or DVD+/- RW). I have DVD-R recorded via DVD+/- RW drive in my pc, i can play it in regular DVD player but when i put it in Pilot's DVD layer, it doesn't work..
Have anyone experienced that? What is the solution to this?
Thanks
Tejal

I don't remember the specifics, but a few other owners have had problems. I think it is sometimes the media and sometimes the ripping or burning software used.

Here's a thread with a lot of discussion on successful use of DVD-Rs. Most people have no problem playing DVD-Rs. I've only had a couple not work (using the same software and recorder each time). I use pretty cheap media too.

What happens when you play your DVD-R in the Pilot? Do you get anything on the screen or the dash and overhead control panels?

BTW, the Pilot doesn't play DVD+R at all.

I play DVD+R just fine. I use TDK's and have used different software, such as Sonic, Nero and DVDXCopy.
