Default Solving Problems using 3M products

EDIT: If you are interested in any of my product, I just opened an ebay store for the holidays.

Here is a link,

http://stores.ebay.com/PadsPlus?refid=store

I've worked with 3M products for the past ten years. Here are a few examples of how I have solved problems using 3M products.
I made these foam pads for the center console using a neoprene foam and a 3M double sided tape. The foam pads prevents small items from slipping and sliding around the center console. If you are interested in any of these 3M products, send me a PM or email me at pilotpads@msn.com

Default I Like The Goods

I have purchased just about every 3M product that wwong has offered to all of us here on the site and have been very impressed with all of the pads and the protective tape for the door guards.

I highly recommend people getting this stuff!!!!

The cargo liner is attached to the interior with 3M hook and loop or more commonly knows as Velcro. But I noticed the wrong 3M hook and loop was used. So, I replaced the 3M hook and loop with one that had a plasticizer resistance to it. With the correct hook and loop used, I don't have to worry about the adhesive attacking the interior trim and making it gummy over time.

wwong,

Someone said it best when they said that you were the Macgyver of the HondaPilot.org group! Almost every design flaw with the Pilot you've been able to fix with a 3M product (well, except the scrunch and the timing belt problem, but Honda addressed those). You've provided a real service to the member here and are one of the contributors to the board that make this a must-read every day for me.

- shutrbug

P.S. When you get more of the clear tape for the door edge protectors, count me in for a set. I didn't get around to ordering from you the first time.

Yep, I agree completely. I can't wait for my 3M door edge guards to arrive. Now, I wonder if Wilson has a half a mullet like Macgyver did

You need to send a bill to 3M's promotions department. Thanks for all the Tips.

Default 3M Reflective Tape

Here is a new one I just made. On most cars and trucks, when you open the door, there is usually a light in the door panel that lights up. At night, this light acts as a safety precaution warning other drivers that you have your door open. On the Pilot, there are only lights in the door panel in the front row seats. Second row door panel has nothing. So, I put this 3M reflective tape diecut to
1 3/4" circles at the corner of the door. Now when I open the door, the reflective tape alerts other drivers of a potential problem. Now, if you're strapping the kid in the car seat, you don't have to worry about someone clipping the door or worst, wiping you out! I also have cut the reflective tape to a 2"x3" rectangle for the front door. If you are interested in getting the four piece reflective tape set, send me a PM or email. Cost is $3 plus $1 for shipping and handling.

Default Cargo Cover Recepticle Protection

I'm using the 3M 4-inch Clear Tape (8mm) to protect the interior surface surrounding the cargo cover recepticles. I quickly figured out that repeatedly putting in and taking out the cargo cover will end up scratching the interior area around these recepticles.

I cut pieces of the tape about 9 inches long and used scissors to round the corners. I applied the tape directly over the recepticles then used a razor blade to carefully cut out the recepticle holes.

Now, the metal ends of my cargo cover will not scratch my interior when installing it or removing it.

ammdaddy

(thanks for supplying the tape, wwong!)
