Default iPhone 5 Incompatibility with USB

I recently purchased my first iPhone, an iPhone 5. It easily synced with my blue tooth and updated contacts etc. However, when I plugged into the USB port so that I could listen to podcasts without running my battery down, I got an incompatibility error.

I suspect that either the iPhone operating is incompatible or that their new plug design may be the culprit.

Any thoughts or update information?

You could plug it into the USB port so that it charges but use the Bluetooth to play the podcasts through Bluetooth audio.

My daughter plugs her iphone 5 into the USB without any problems so she can listen to her music library.

There are a couple steps you could take to diagnose the problem. One would be to make sure you are using an Apple factory USB cable for the iPhone 5; Apple tends to fight third-party cables. Another would be to test with a friend's iPhone 5, just to rule it out being her specific phone. Then last, find out if the latest software / firmware upgrade is installed on your Pilot's console stack. (You didn't say make/model of Pilot so we can't tell if you have RES/Nav or not.) Lots of Pilot owners are iPhone 5 owners, I would bet.
