Default Bad tires?

2006 pilot, 90200 miles on it. I bought it with the original gy integrity tires on it, and I thought the pilot rode excellent- like it was on glass. In fact, the dealership had another pilot there almost identical to the one I bought and it was the ride of the tires that made us decide on the one we got.

Anyway, when it was time to get new tires I got 4 new integrity's put on. Since then I have been nothing but disappointed with the ride. I have already had two of them warrantied out for being out of round and everyimte I take it back, they still vibrate above 60 mph, getting worse as I speed up. In fact just last week I had them rotated and balanced and it felt worse than before I took it in.

What I would like to know is if there could be anything else wrong with the pilot before I go down the road of demanding a refund on these terrible tires. I don't think it is anything else as the problems surfaced only after getting the new tires, but I want all the ammo I can get.

Could there be a strut/engine mount/wheel bearing/other issue that would cause an otherwise good set of tires to vibrate like that?

Welcome. Goodyear integrities do not get the greatest of reviews for snow/wet handling compared to other options. However, they should not be out of round or vibrate. The problem started with tire replacement, so it is likely the tires or balancing. One of our local shops has equipment that must be out of calibration - they cannot balance a tire to be vibration free. I would suspect this might be the case here. Look for a dealer or tire shop that has a Hunter Road Force balancing machine. Have them rebalanced and checked for out of roundness there. If it fixes the problem, demand reimbursement for the balancing at the selling tire shop (or credit for the original bad balancing). If not, you know to start pursuing further.

When you are ready for new tires, the best ones I've had on my 05 are Michelin LTX ms2. Got 27k on mine and they are the smoothest running tires I've had.

Uniformity problems [variations in roundness and/or sidewall stiffness] have been an issue with the Integrity tires since the Pilot was introduced in 2002. Road force balancing on a Hunter GSP9700 will optimize a given combination of wheel and tire. However, if the residual road force is still too high, then you will still have some level of vibration.

You can futz around trying to get a good set from Goodyear, but a better solution is to buy tires by Michelin, who seem able to control uniformity within acceptable limits. Another possibility is tires by Bridgestone/Firestone, Yokohama or Toyo (preferably Japanese-made), which also seem to exhibit good uniformity – plus they offer money-back trial periods, so you’re not stuck with the tires if you don’t like them.
