Default 2007 EXL won't start - Fuse problem?

Hi all,

About 1 month ago: Was waiting in the car with with engine off and radio on. When I tried to start the car, all i heard was rapid clicking but the engine wouldn't turn over. Waited a couple of minutes and then it started.

Today: Was waiting in the car with with engine off and radio on. When I tried to start the car, all i heard was rapid clicking but the engine wouldn't turn over. Now car won't start at all. Tried boosting the car, didn't help. There is a rapid continuous clicking when I try to start the engine ( i guess that's the starter) but the engine won't even try to turn over.

What can be the cause?
Possible it's a blown fuse? If so, any ideas on which one it might be?
What does the IGI Main Fuse do?

Any help would be much appreciated. The car is stuck at my friend's house and I really don't want to tow it to a dealership.

Charlie

Are you still on the original battery?
If so, you're (over)due for a replacement - especially since it's died twice.
Put in a new one and see if the car will now start.

But I tried boosting (jump starting) it and it didn't start. Doesn't that eliminate the battery as a pobible cause? Btw, all the interior lights, radio etc still work, it just won't turn over.

No it doesn't. Based on your answer it's the original battery. Replace it!

Indeed, it's still the original battery. I'll replace it this morning and post the results. Thanks for the help.

Well, went to Canadian Tire and bought a 700 CCA battery (original is 550 CCA). Installed it and voila!! problem solved !! Thanks so much everyone, greatly appreciate the help. BTW, i went to Wal-Mart 1st to buy the Everlast battery others on these forums recommended but it was sold out.

Thanks again

I had the same issue with my 2006 Pilot recently. I could not get it to jump start but all the lights were on and the starter was clicking. Turned out my alternator was bad, so I replaced it. You might test out your alternator to make sure its charging properly.
