Default ECO light failure

The ECO light on my Honda Pilot 2011 EX ECO normally came on when the car was in cruise in city drive. But I noticed that the light does not come on any more, even though the MPG indicator jumped to 30- 40 range. Should I bring the car to dealer for a checkup?

Not sure....but, I have noticed that the ECO light on mine sometimes won't come on much before I am done with my short work commute now that we have much colder mornings and I am heavily loading the heating system...

ECO is not activated until after the engine is warmed up.

That make sense as I drive in North Dakota. But does not the temperature dial reaching a level position mean the engine has already warmed up? I will test it tomorrow and re-post what I find.

Once the temperature gauge is at stabilized at the midpoint and you start getting a decent amount of heat out of the vents, ECO mode should start operating. Of course in ND, that could take a little while.

I tested today. After about 3 miles of driving in city, the ECO light came on while the pilot was in coast. Thanks, mudbog. You are right. One thing less to worry about.
