Default Heater Mode Problem

Hello,

My 2005 Pilot (EXL) has a problem with the heating/AC Mode. Regardless of which mode I select, air only comes out of the front dashboard vents. No air comes out of the floor vents or defrost vents. Also does not matter if A/C is on or off, and temperature setting makes no difference. The blower speed adjusts just fine. And the rear (2nd seat) vents work just fine. I have done quite a bit of searching on this forum as well as others and have not seen this exact issued addressed. I did find information about retrieving A/C fault codes, but no faults are showing on mine.

I was able to find a parts list and diagram and suspect the problem has something to do with part 79140-S0X-A01 MOTOR ASSY., MODE. This appears to be real difficult to get access to. Does anyone know of a way to test this without removing? I have also checked all fuses related to heating, but find no problems.

Any help would be very much appreciated.
