Hello all, I am new here. I tried to search for my problem but could not find the same situation. My problem is that on my 04 I have 2 brake lights out, the upper drivers side and the lower passenger side. the tail light works fine in both. I tried new bulbs but they still only work for tail lights/ no brake lights. I even swapped the bulbs from the lights that do work correctly, same thing. Anybody have any ideas or suggestion?
Thanks, Mark |

Well I stopped bye my local Honda dealer today. They told it me it could be as simple as the brake light switch or as involved as a wiring problem. They want $103.00 just to look at it. Brake light switch is about $50.00 Does anybody know where the switch is located at? I am guessing up by the pedal, my wife has the Pilot at work so I cannot check right now.
Thanks |

Not sure how to link that thread to this one, Sorry! type brake light switch into search, its the first one that comes up. I got a new switch BTW and it did not fix the problem. Guess I will be taking it in to the dealer.

If any of the brake lights were working, then it couldn't be the switch. They all run off the same switch. If all the fuses are good, then it's most likely a wiring problem. If you want to be a DIY'er, then get the shop manual from the dealer and sit down in the lobby and look at the wiring diagrams. You will have to check the wires for opens or grounds for the bulbs in question. Remember it's not the running lights, just the ones hooked to the brake switch. Shouldn't take long to figure out from the wiring diagram.
It should be found in the "Electrical" section under "External Lighting" and then "Brake Lights". FYI: There is no relays in the circuit for my older 92-95 Civics. I don't know if that still holds true. Last edited by 94eg!; 12-28-2011 at 11:51 AM. |

I have a 2007 Honda Pilot. Ive replaced the bulbs, checked the fusesd and replaced the stop switch by the brake pedal. The third brake light works but the primaries arent coming on at all. I know it"s not the switch because i took one that was working off of another Honda (Odyssesy) and switched them out. They both worked in the Odyseey but don't work on my Pilot. Any suggestions or help here would be greatly appreciated
