Question cv boot clamp

Recently I found that there are some grease leaking from front right side of inner cv joint boot. Boot itself is OK, no cracks, tears just grease is passing by clamp and it makes a mess as it splashes around. There was not a huge amount of grease (I've seen a mess in a friend's car when a whole boot splits open and grease is splashed - BIG mess...).
Inner boot is hard to access just to wrap around with a new band. I can not get it really tight as banding tool has to be wiggled inside from bottom but then is hard/impossible to keep it tight in order to lock band (ear type band). Any advices? How hard/easy is to remove right side axle? Anyone done this recently? I was thinking to pull axle out reband it tight on the workbench and slip back.
Thanks

Yes you can order a replacement boot band and cut the old one off. You will need a special tool to install the boot band though. I think I picked mine up at Checker (now O'reilly Autoparts) for $12. If you can get the tool to touch the pass-through loop on the band, then your in buisness. You can always roll the tire in either direction to help bend the tab after it's tightened.

You can get the OEM band from Hondapartsnow.com or get an aftermarket one at the autoparts store. They are supposed to wrap around the boot twice so they seem very long.

Here is an instruction. You don't need to the more expensive version of the tool with the built in cutter. A pair of dykes will cut the band no problem after you bend the end. At the end they forget to use a center punch to smash down everything after they push the tabs down. This keeps anything from coming loose.

Thanks for advices. Did this today and looks good. My recommendation is to look for BAND-IT brand of bands (double loop around boot).
Cheers!
