I've had a ching ching metallic sound coming from my front passenger wheel for a month now and cannot isolate it. It goes away after driving it awhile but sometimes comes back. It doesn't go away when I brake either. I thought maybe it was the metal backing plate but it seems to clear. I had a similar sound once and it turned out to be a stone caught in between the rotor and shield. Anyone have any ideas?

I decided to take it off and give it another look. I didn't see anything obvious but I figured I'd give the caliper and rotor a tap with the hammer to jar anything loose that might be hanging up. I also made sure the backing plate wasn't making contact anywhere. Afterwards I got in and went for a ride and it was quiet for the rest of the day. We'll see if it comes back or not after a few more days.
