Default Water stain on My 06 Pilot Lx.. HELP!!

Hey everyone!
I have a white 06 Pilot Lx, the interior is called "green".. and its not plush fabric, its kinda like burlap, if that makes sense??

anyway, We went boating the other day, and My husband got in and his shorts were still a little wet, Not soaking, but still damp.. now there is a water ring stain on my seat!

What the heck is that about??.. We have had a civic, Accord, oddysey, all with soft grey fabric interior, and never had this issue!

I called Honda corporation, they said they never heard of it, so I called a local dealer, he said he never heard of it.. Nice.. No help for me!

Anyone have this issue?, if so what do you do to resolve it or protect your seats?

We live up North, and Winter is coming, and I have 3 kids!
I know kids can make stains, but from water??? COME ON HONDA!!!!

VERy Dissipointed in them this time..

Please help , if anyone has suggestions!!

Thanks!!!

Are you sure the stain isn't from the dye of his shots bleeding onto the seat in some way? I'm assuming you bought this car used with is being an 06 and you're just now having this problem. If so, are you positive there wasn't something already on the seat that the water affected?

i love it, husband sits in the car with a wet bathing suit and honda gets the blame.

i would try steam cleaning, i steam clean the upholstery in my cars every year and it gets rid of a lot.

Hopefully Hubby didn't have an accident.

I'd get some Resolve. Works wonders on pet induced carpet stains.

This is a very common problem with the "canvas" fabric that Honda used for a few years. I believe they changed the fabric in 2008 or 2009. I had a 2007 LX with grey seats in this fabric... indeed even clean water will leave a dark or light stain depending on any slight impurities or whatever in the water. The best way to remove is spray the area with "Shout" and blot the area with a clean towel.

You can search for "water stain" or "stain" on this forum and you'll find a lot of posts about this. I've heard the same "never heard of it" comment from local dealer but for some reason they changed the fabric in subsequent years.

I made an official complaint, noted with my dealer, on the off-chance they dinged me for damage on my lease return. When I returned it the lease manager said "yeah, seen a lot of that on those seats" so I expect Honda is quite familiar with the issue.

But the "Shout" trick really works quite well.

I think they were mostly just pointing out that a vehicle that is 5 years old and most likely purchased Used - Honda would not be at fault and should have been the absolute last tree you barked up.

Woolite diluted with Water also does an excellent job in cleaning car upholstry, you may want to look into that route as well. There is a write-up on Honda-Tech regarding it with some yellow Integra Type R seats. Another alternative is PowerOut, which is an upholstry cleaner from TurtleWax.

Well forgive us!

It seems to me that you got four pertinent responses, only one of which you seem to have liked.

I can recall writing quite a thoughtful 375 word reply to your question about mounting 2nd gen seats in a 1st gen, to which I received no response whatsoever, not even an acknowledgement from you, so you'll forgive me if I play the world's tiniest violin at your dissatisfaction with the quality of our answers. Our free answers I might add, on a forum to which you have yet to contribute much of anything other than questions and now whinging about our answers, in reply to a relatively trivial question that a quick google would most likely have answered for you.

Unless of course your intent was for 'thanks but no thanks on your "help"' to be considered humorous, in which case I suggest you try harder next time because I don't believe you succeeded. How's that for a critique of posting skills?

Thanks guys for the answers - my wife posted this and never set it up for an email reply. I've been away from the forum since the summer. Sorry about that.
