Thanks for the tip.

My mechanic found a small leak in the radiaor (under pressure) at the upper seam on the drivers side. Also scoped the inside of the misfire cylinder P0301 and it appears super clean. Mechanic says its a head gasket leak.

Mechanic quoted: New radiator, head gasket repair (including possible machining flat), replace timing belt, new coolant pump...$2500.

I'll be trying the Bars HG1 first.

I bought this car used recently. My guess is that the prior owner ran it low of coolant and baked the gasket.

I tried the Bars a couple days ago and it seems to be working.

I have a 2004 Pilot with same problem. Just replaced spark plugs and thought it fixed it but hasn't. There is a small leak in the radiator around the cap (my mechanic noticed this when I had him check it over before I bought it last year). Are you guys still finding success starting now with fixing the rad leaks?

Default Starting Issues

Same problem with my 2004 Pilot. Just baught it used and the dealer has replaced battery, plugs, fuel pump and all the fuel injectors. Still have the problem. They're at a loss as to what to do. I know they replaced a coolant bypass gasket previously, could this have started the problem? There's no pattern for when it starts rough. Can sit out all night in 10 degree weather and starts fine. I run to the store, it sits, for an hour and I have to crank it forever before it starts. Runs perfect once it starts.

Wow - and you paid the dealership for all this? I would talk to the service manager and explain "I asked you guys to fix a hard start issue, I have spent $$$$$$ and I still have the same problem - I expect that you will continue repairs at your own expense since all the incorrect "guess"agnostics have not fixed my problem yet".

The dealer covered all the repairs. They finally said they couldn't fix it and I ended up trading the 04 Pilot in for an 05 and got full credit. I have a Oddesy with 125,000 and an Accord with 100,000. Not a single problem with either, they're rock solid. I'm not so sure about the Pilot.
