Question Rear Blower Motor out - not a transistor?

I thought I had traced my non-working rear blower on my 2003 model to the transistor. Even the Dealership diagnosed that problem, but I declined the $325.00 repair, Instead, I ordered the OEM replacement ($80.00 was the cheapest I found) and last night I followed the replacement instuctions, installed the new transistor, and cleaned the screen. However, the blower still doesn't work. Could the motor be shot? Is there any other troubleshooting anyone can recommend?

Did you check all of the fuses?

The main 30 amp fuse in the engine compartment is good. I can't identify any other one that should be checked. Am I missing something?

IIRC there are also fuses inside the kickpanel on the passenger and driver's side.

I haven't inspected those as the manual does not indicate that any of them supply power to the blower motor. Are you aware of a specific fuse at issue or simply recommending an inspection of all fuses?
Absent a fuse issue, I am next going to remove the intake screen over the squirrel cage motor and see if the motor is seized. If it is free, I can pull the passenger side inspection panel and check the harness directly for power. If no power, I'm back to inspecting the electrical. If there is power, the motor itself must be fried. I've seen motors in the past that have a circuit that prevents critical overheating. Unfortunately, the circuit is built into the windings and cannot be reset or easily replaced. Does anyone know if the blower motor used by Honda has this type of protection?

1) Make sure the heater and/or AC are set to their highest/lowest setting to make sure the rear blower calls for power. 2) Set the manual button on the heater control on the dash to manual to see if that starts the rear motor. 3) Double check that the new transisitor is installed correctly (can it be reversed?).

I just had my transistor replaced on my 05, but fortunately it was still under the extended warranty, so I didn't have to do the work myself. Only paid the $50 deductible per repair. Before taking it in, I checked the fuse in the manual, which was 30A UNDER the hood fuse box, not inside the door.

Good luck!
