Default Do I have any options

I have a 2011 Pilot EXL bought Sept. 2010. It has 23,000 miles on it. I posted on here a couple of months ago regarding it starting hard, the ignition sticking and then it eventually burning up the catalytic converters. The Honda dealership had it for 3 weeks and finally determined that it was due to a sensor that was making a valve stick open and flooding the converters with fuel. But they had to have a mechanic from the factory take a look at it figure this out. Well 3 weeks ago, the ingition stuck again and it didn't start. We called them and they said to let them know if it did it again. Friday, on my way to work the CEL and VTM lights came out. It threw code P3400 but they said that it just needed a computer update. That it was causing a valve to stick open and it was using oil. It had used 2.5 quarts of oil. It also required a computer update for the VTM which they said may have been the reason for the vibration that I have been complaining about at my 3 oil changes.

Any way, I am wondering if I have any recourse. I am not looking for sympathy from any of you, we all have problems. But I have a chronically ill child and we have to travel several thousand miles a year to his speciallist and hundreds going to his local doctors in addtion to the 98 miles/day that I put on just going to work. We loved our previous pilot and had no problems with it, but it had 130,000 miles on it and with our son being ill we wanted to make sure that we had a reliable vehicle available when we need it, so we got a new one. And now we have had nothing but problems with it and I just want to give it back to the dealership and walk away. I am so angry and frustrated. Is there anything that we can do? Has anyone had a dealership work something out with them in a situation like this?

if it were me, i would first try to get the dealer or honda of america to work with you on a new vehicle. if that is a no-go, i would check into your state lemon laws and see what your rights are. remember that if it has used that much oil the plugs might have a shortened life.

I agree with above and would add that you may need to hire a lemon law attorney to get this resolved quickly and to your complete satisfaction. Really, you need to get another vehicle if they cannot fix your current one in a reasonable amount of time. In CA, the manufacturer gets three tries to fix it, I believe, before they have to give you a replacement vehicle. NE may have a similar lemon law. Good luck.

Primer on NE lemon law. Nebraska Official Department of Motor Vehicles | DMV

Use it. If you don't you forfeit your rights under the law.
