I drove our 2007 Pilot in low light conditions for the first time in weeks and I noticed that the dash lights did not dim and I had no taillights. The fuses by our feet seemed okay, but then I opened the main fuse box under the hood to find a connector that had gotten too hot.
Any idea as to what this connector is? It is not listed on the top of the fuse box.

I still don't know what the connector is for, but it appears to be just grease rather than an actual melting issues.
I also solved the problem with the lights. There was a burned out 15 amp fuse in the passenger-side fuse box. It is listed in the book as 'small light'. Very helpful, not! I replaced the fuse and now all lights work. I just hope they keep working now for another 103,000 miles!
