Default Alarm Issue

Yesterday I got to work, activated my alarm and went inside for my normal 8 hour day. When I came out, I couldn't deactivate my alarm with the remote. I figured "no big deal, I'll just unlock it with the key." Doing so set off the alarm. So after my alarm timed out (I have no way of disarming it since my remote isn't working) I tried it again, by turning it clockwise and holding it so all doors unlock. Same result. As the alarm was going off, I was able to start the truck, but that didn't shut it off either.

Finally I popped the hood and pulled the horn relay.

Any idea on why this is happening? Why I can't shut it off, and why the truck even started with the alarm going off?

2007 ex-l with factory alarm system.

I was finally able to use the remote by cleaning the remote battery contacts. But I should be able to use the key to disarm the alarm...right?

Thanks!
