Question Automatic door unlock in P

Hi,

I've got a 2011 Touring and I'm experiencing this issue:
I have programmed the unlocking of the four doors after shifting into P.
However this does not work consistently... Let's say it works 80% of the time.
When the doors do not unlock in P, they would unlock after I shift to reverse or D and then back to P.

Anybody experiencing this issue?

Thanks!

I have noticed something similar in my 2010 EX-L

If I shift directly from drive to park, the doors unlock.

If I shift from drive to neutral, pause a moment, then shift to park the doors do not unlock.

I have tried your workaround 2010exl but it hasn't worked for me. The behavior is totally unpredictable. I doesn't matter if I go directly into P, or I pause in N, some times unlock, sometimes doesn't.

Are you using the same key example Driver 1 or driver 2 key? I only programed driver 2 key to unlock when into park and when I used driver 1 key I was like why didn't the doors unlock. I realized I never programed driver 1 key to do this. Now it works great. I have 2011 Touring as well

Go to the Honda ownerslink-They may have the pdf file with instructions on how to program the automatic unlock.

At least they use to....

EDIT: botsonlou...just noticed you have an EX-L...auto-locking features can be customized...see Owners Manual on Auto-locking feature for non Touring models

The Touring Model has many unique, programmable features that are not available of the EX/LX models. The Multi-Information display commands can be used with the Driver 1 and Driver 2 key fobs for individual preferences for door locks, lighting, windows along with viewing all the trip data choices.... Spend some time in the driver's seat with the Owners manual in hand paged to the Multi-Info Display section you'll eventually get it set to your preferences.
