Bad EGR Valve?
How common is for a EGR Valve to be bad? I'm looking at getting a used 2006 Honda Pilot and according to the car fax the EGR Valve was replaced at 1,600 miles which seems unusual to me.

My mother-in-law's 03 threw a check engine lightfor the EGR so we just replaced it. light never came back on, so she was very happy with the work. It's very easy to replace, but does cost a bit of money. I think I got it from HondaPartsNow.com for $99...

I do not think it is common but the uncommon sometimes happens. My 05 Pilot when new blew out the ECU and stranded me. Was fixed under warranty and dealer said they never saw that happen before. No other problems since and after 110,000 miles. Some new parts are defective straight from the manufacturer.
