Default Moisture in Headlight

During this winter season noticed driver side headlight covered with moisture due to temperature change, I did some research online and found out this is a common problem with Honda vechicles. Does anyone know if a TSB exist for this problem? Contacted Honda dealership and all I got from them was the usual "well since your vehicle is out of warranty........"

1st I've heard of it for a Pilot. I think you have a bad seal around the headlight. Maybe when it dries out, you should put a bead of silicon caulk around the edges.

Also if you've had to replace a headlight bulb, double check its in properly.

Same issue with my 06, if you find more info about this being a 'common' problem I'd like to know more.

I had a moisture problem with the passenger-side headlight on my 04. I pulled the bulb out and let it sit for a day to dry out. Then I just cleaned up the rubber seal and where it fits around the back of the headlight. No moisture since.

I had the same issue with a taillight on my Tundra. I used a hair dryer to help dry it out, then applied rvt silicone around the edges like humanoid suggested. Its been good for 10 months now.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the suggestions/help, I was wondering if anyone has the front bumper breakdown/illustration, after looking at the front end, I would have to take off front bumper to get to the driver side headlight to put a bead of silicone around the edge of the headlight assembly.

The headlight assembly won't come out without removing the bumper?

Another thing to look for once you get the headlight out is to check to make sure the gasket/seal where the bulb inserts isn't leaking. They can dry out and get dirt in them to the point where moisture can get in.

No, it won't. There are mounting tabs on the headlight bucket that are located behind the plastic bumper cover.

I also have this same problem, but it's on an aftermarket TYC headlight unit that was installed before I bought the Pilot.

I'd sure love to know a quick and easy way to get it out - a hairdryer for ten minutes didn't do squat.

I had the moisture problem in the passenger side headlight on my '06. Honda replaced the headlight assembly under warranty. I think the moisture problem in not uncommon.
