Default 2004 Driver Window Stopped Working

Initially my driver window was kind sluggish as in sometime I had to push the button twice to get the window go down or role up.
Now is stopped working all together.

Any ideas where do I start? When I push the button I can hear a click inside the driver door. Could it be the motor? How easy is for me to replace it? Ort should I just let the dealer do it? Is no longer in warranty so no idea how much will cost...

Thanks much

Responses here are typically slow. Sounds like your switch is still working. Sounds like the motor took a dump. Have never replaced one my Pilot but cannot be too hard to do. I've done them many times on all sorts of cars and it's never been too hard to do. Check Majestic Honda online or other online sellers for cost of part.

These are pretty easy to diagnose. It should take about 20 minutes to figure out what the problem is.

Remove the door panel. Look for hidden screws near the arm rest and interior door latch. I'm not sure of the exact location on yours, maybe someone else can chime in.

Then remove the connector to the window motor. Hook up a test light and see if it lights when you hit the button to raise then lower the window. If it doesn't light, make sure you have a good ground for the test light before condemming the switch.

If it still doesnt light, check fuses, then you can spray some electrical contact cleaner into the switch. It has a high alcohol content and evaporated quickly, Don't use WD-40 or any other oil for this. This should clean out any dirt in the switch. Try the test light again.....still no light, then replace the switch.

If the test light does light up, hook up the wire harness to the motor, and hit the motor lightly and repeatedly with a hammer as you use the switch to open and close the window. If the motor is gummed up, this can free it up but may only be a temporary fix. In this case you may have to replace the motor, unless you don't mind driving around with the door panel off and a hammer in your hand.

Hoope this helps.

Also smell the switch and motor to further confirm your test light checks. A burnt smell can often indicate a bad electrical component. Many a failed switch/relay/etc has that telltale burnt smell.
