Default How much coolant is left?

Since the dealer recently changed our timing belt and water pump how much coolant would have been drained from the system during this process? Is it only a minimal amount that is lost in this process or would a sufficient amount need to be replaced? And if replaced, would it be an amount sufficient enough to constitute a coolant change?

Check your bill the dealer should list that amount there. I also believe that the coolant amount is also in your owners manual. Last but not least this is a major service and they should drain the coolant completely.

I'd assume that they drained the radiator too, so two gallons, more or less. It'd be more of a pain to try to recover the coolant than to install fresh.

My dealer just changed my timing belt and water pump and I asked them that same question. They said that the coolant is replaced so they can replace the water pump and constitutes the required coolant change out. No further or subsequent coolant change is needed. As the water pump is pretty low on the engine, i assume most of the coolant was drained from the engine block and all was drained from the radiator. However, if the water pump was not replaced, I imagine you could avoid draining the coolant and just swap out the old belt, not sure though.
