Default 2008 Honda Pilot - Sliding Console Lid question...

Good Evening,

I just bought a used 2008 Honda Pilot at Rusty Wallis Honda in Dallas, TX this past weekend.

Since I have brought my new Pilot home, I have been noting a few quirks/dings/etc. about my new vehicle.

One of these items that i have noticed is something peculiar about the sliding console lid.

When the lid is pushed backward and fully open, it feels somewhat spring-loaded, but weakly so. When it rebounds from the fully open position and and manually moved forward and back again, there is a sound of what sounds much like a piece of paper being moved past/rubbing against the moving lid, coming from inside the console behind the moving lid.

Is this normal, or do I have a foreign object (paper?) lodged behind the sliding console lid?

If the latter is the case, how do I go about retrieving the foreign object? Do I have to remove the console, or is there an easier way to remove the lid to remove a foreign object and then replace it again?

Smile awwww a Sage One!

I had a Sage 06 that absolutely loved...but was totalled in an accident.

I had the same thing and it was paper that had gotten caught in the space between the lid and just past the end of the storage space

I was never able to reach it to get it out ... sorry I wasn't much help...

but love you Pilot!

Same kind of thing happens with CD's too. You are not alone!

Read this thread. If any of the links have hondapilot.org, change them to piloteers.org and the thread will open.

Good luck!

Something's jammed by center console, need way to get it out

I am guessing you have something in there. I have the same issue with my 2004 Pilot. I don't have a good idea on how to get behind there, so let me know if you figure it out!

THANKS

Peter
