Thought I saw several years ago that someone had posted a procedure--from the service manual??-- for setting the HVAC temp on EX's. My '03 seems be off by about 4 degrees (i.e. when set for 70 the actual cabin temp is closer to 74).
I've Googled the topic for a while and no hits. I have checked the sensor on the lower dash (near the right knee). the little louvers are clear, the sensor connection appears tight, and the clear tube appears connected on both ends. Problem occurs night or day, heat and A/C--don't think the light sensor is the culprit.
