Default Sporadic vibration at low speeds

I have a 2007 Honda Pilot EX-L. It has a strange very subtle sporadic vibration at low speeds. It doesn't happen all the time. It doesn't even happen every day. It's never happened at high speeds. Usually under 20-25mph only. It feels like the whole car is shuddering. It only happens for a couple seconds and ALWAYS when I have my foot on the gas pedal. As soon as I take my foot off of the gas pedal, it stops, and I proceed with no problems until the next time it happens. Tires are new. Less than 10K on them and they're balanced. I was thinking transmission issue, but doesn't seem to shift sloppy or anything, and it drives perfectly 95% of the time. Mechanics all have there own ideas, but just wondering if anyone else has heard this or experienced it? Thanks!

What does the rev counter do? Is there a gear change?

Rev counter does nothing...operates normally. No gear change.

There is a light throttle change down around 20mph that causes the car to feel like its hit the brakes, but this doesn't sound like it.

Right now the suspects include road surface, possibly EGR sticking

I bought a 2006 Pilot last year. I noticed that around 1500 - 1700 RPM which is around 20-30 MPH that the car hmmmmm, bounces or vibrates I want to say.
I googled it and I see that I am not the only person having this issue (Few R though). Can you please let me know if you find a fix. I am really afraid that its a tranny/power-train problem. I am praying that its not.
Let me know please

I have a 2004 Pilot EXL and have been having this same problem over the last several weeks. I have 96k on it, got new tires last week and and not sure if that has something to do with it. I notice it when I am driving at roughly the same 20-25 mph in a residential neighbor hood, sounds like a low rumble almost a muffled backfire of some sort, anybody have any suggestions?

Have the exact same symptom on my 2004 under the same conditions. I am fairly certain it's the torque convertor switching between locked and unlocked. It's just not as smooth as it used to be when it's on the edge of locked and unlocked at low rpm and low speeds. Causes a deep but low volume rumble when I'm light on the throttle and going under 30 mph.

I don't think it's a "right now" problem but I do expect at some point the torque convertor won't want to lock or worse, unlock! It's been doing this for several months now and I've noticed no driveability issues/shifting issues whatsoever - even when I'm towing my boat (frequently over the past few months.) I have the trans and ps cooler kit as well - also have 90K miles on the pilot too though!

FYI, it's not the EGR. You would certainly be having significant driveability issues and defintely would have a "check engine" light.

Sounds like its a common problem (Or @ least multiple people are experiencing it). I still want to know what would fix it.
Some times I tell myself "Just drive it until something BREAKS" and sometimes I want to fix it to prevent paying big bucks later down the line.
I hope someone fixes it and tells us what it is exactly. I didn't think it was the EGR because the EGR will make the vehicle hesitate even when its parked I was told.

My Pilot has started to develop a vibration/bounce while on the gas (1/3-1/2 throttle?) as well. Initially, it would only occur at lower speeds (20-30 mph), but it is starting to happen at highway speeds as well.
Many of the roads I drive have been newly paved, but I'm not so sure that they're all that smooth. I can see some of the little imperfections, but it's hard to tell if the roads are the culprit. I'll have to get some more seat time in my wife's car to compare.

Also, my Pilot is approaching 90k miles and is due for a transmission fluid change. I checked the fluid on the dipstick, and it is still pink; however, I could see some very tiny dark particles on the paper towel I wiped it on. I plan on doing a single drain and fill in a couple of weeks, and I'll report back on the results. Though I think it's overpriced, I'll most likely stick with the Honda ATF-Z1 for this change. If anyone has already tried this, please tell us.

If that doesn't work, I guess I'll have to do more investigating...

yeah let us know what results you get. I hope 1 of us finds the issue and gets it fixed.
I was thinking the same way today when I was driving. The roads are not the best roads here in MI and sometimes I feel it while doing 40 mph, but I am not sure because of the small bumps in the road, but I notice it BIG TIME only sometimes when going easy on the pedal between 20-30 mph
