Repairing rear power window

I have a 2005 Pilot and today the rear passenger side window rolled all the way down and will not come back up. After removing the door panel and feeling around inside the door I found a wire from (I think) the motor that is just hanging there. The motor responds when you push the button but makes a grinding noise and obviously the window does not go up or down.

Does anyone know if the wire I found should be connected back to the motor? Is the motor bad? Is it something else completely?

The wire I am referring to is not an electrical wire. Thanks for any help.

Some part of the window up/down mechanism probably broke and the loose wire is the result. Unless you have a repair manual and feel comfortable doing the repair, you'll have to get the dealer or independent repair shop/body shop to fix it.

Sounds like the regulator that moves the glass up and down has broken.

Would happen on my truck. The only cure is replacement.

I pulled of the other door panel to see how it is setup. It is really hard to see but I can tell the metal wire is supposed to be connected somewhere. The end of the wire has a round ball attached to it and it doesn't look like it has "broken" off but maybe just came loose??

If anybody can point me in the right direction of a repair manual, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for the replies.

Helm sells the Honda factory service manuals

http://www.helminc.com/helm/product2...FT1BCNC8G11FG0

Yes, it's expensive at $70, but I have one for my CR-V and it's awesome -- there is *so* much information in there. Totally worth the cost.

You might find CD-ROM versions for sale on Ebay. Stay away from them as they are scanned from the manual, and are illegal copies.
