D Light flashing 2003 Pilot

I just had this problem start today. What is the problem? Is it safe to drive?

My Drive light started flashing, for about 5 minutes. I got to my destination, turned car off, and then back on and it did not do it again.

It is like a "Check Engine" light for the transmission.

GET it checked as soon as possible, and in a hurry if it comes back on.

However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.

My wife's 2004 starting doing the same thing. Dealership troubleshot code P-1740 (fourth gear switch). They reset it and test drove OK. Next day same thing again "D" flashing brought the vehicle then they changed the switch. So far no more problems.

John Eagle Honda, Houston changed the switch and no problem. They said this is not a common problem, and hopefully I will not have it again. No damage was done.
