Unhappy

an update... Opened up the intake manifold and cleaned it out last December though there was not much crud in there.. The channels were clear... But after thoroughly cleaning and putting everything back and test driving the whistling noise is still there... Any other ideas on what to check next?. The noise has become more pronounced when accelerating above 30mph...

Mine did the same thing. Turned out to be a bracket up by the drivers side firewall. It needed to be bent slightly away from the firewall. I thought it was crazy but it worked. Havnt heard the whistle noise in years! I will look tonight when I get home to see exactly what the bracket was connected to to be more specific.

At this point I would give this a shot and hope it is as simple as it seems! awaiting your feedback...

any updates sir? Anybody else knows what this mysterious bracket is that is being referenced above? I looked at the driver side firewall but not sure what I am looking for... And as you can tell I am desperate to find out the culprit of this noise before taking it in to Honda and spending around $150 for them to tell me what it is...

Ok, so I was researching further online and some non-Honda forum sites talk about the air filter rubber tubing that connect the engine air filter to the intake manifold may have a small hole.
There is mention of performing a smoke test at a shop or even pulling the tubing and submersing it in water and see if any bubbles forms when flexing it...
any thoughts? I am thinking of doing the latter to save some money.

If it turns out to be a hole in the tube, should I just fix it or replace the whole thing?
what about this item? Universal Cold Air Air Filter Box Flexible Pipe Tube RAM Yellow | eBay

an update: filter house tubing is in great shape no cracks in the rubber and no holes on closer inspection.... Other suggestions where this whistling noise might be coming from?

So this is EXACTLY what my 2004 Pilot sounds like when I press on the gas pedal from ~30mph and onwards:

Posts on youtube suggest it is a bad torque converter while other say it is normal noise from the transmission?!

New front mount installed, whistling sound upon acceleration is still there... I believe it is coming from the transmission as when I put it in D3 I do not hear the whistling sound as much-- it is still there but once i put it back to D mode the sound is amplified upon acceleration. Do you think my transmission will fail one day? I plan to continue servicing it myself changing the ATF every 15K miles but not sure if this noise will lead to total transmission failure and all this maintenance down the drain! Not sure what to do at this time. Thoughts?

Took my 2004 Pilot in today for the NHTSA ignition switch recall and had them diagnose this same issue... turns out it is the transmission... a gear is making that noise... either live with it and continue proper maintenance or get rid of it... whichever makes u sleep better at night. I am pondering whether to keep mine i have babied it and have done majority of the maintenance myself, so it is not an easy decision!

I noticed the transmission whistle on my used 2005 and then it started jerking between 2nd and third gear. I took out an aftermarket warranty from the dealership when I purchased it.
The end result there was a problem with the transmission and a re-manufactured Honda transmission was installed.

Keep us posted.

Does Honda offer extended warranties for vehicles like mine with 93000 miles that cover the transmission?
