Default Center console removal

I'm not a big fan of center consoles, and I was wondering if any one has removed the center console of their Pilot? Also, what experience did they have removing it and how it looks now?

You do know that there's a ventilation fan and other electronics "hidden" in the center console, don't you?

Yes, I like being able to move my feet over when I am waiting for the wife or kids, and you can't slide over easily from one front seat to the other on those rare occasions that require it.

Also, I don't want to get rid of the armrest and and what ever is underneath it, just from the front end of the armrest to the dash board.

2012 HONDA PILOT Parts - Honda Parts, Accessories & Genuine Honda OEM Parts @ hondapartsoem.com

This diagram gives some idea about the console assembly for the 2012. You can probably remove 'storage stuff', but underneath, there are likely to be wires, mechanicals and potentially air ducts.

Do either of you have some tips of how to replace the center console lid. I just bought a used 2003 Honda Pilot and the center console lid looks awful. I want to replace it, but there are two problems. I have no idea how to remove the lid, and two I can only find replacement leather for a good price and not a replacement lid.

Any tips?
