Default Quick Please: Trailer Brake Controller

About to put the Prodigy controller on,
Who has used the brake switch directly?
Who has picked up the brake signal somewhere else?
Hints and tips?

Thanks in advance

Progidy/tekonsha is a great control. I used mine on GMC/Chevys and now have the pigtail installed on the 09 Pilot but have not yet towed with the Pilot. Easy set up based upon trailer weight /axles.
I did not see an OEM type wiring for the Pilots at the Tekonsha web site but the do have a one for the ridgeline that can be adapted. Not sure if your yr Pilot has a modular connection hidden in the dash for the trailer brake connection. hope this helps

Thanks, but no, the Pilots before '09 are not prewired at all.

I thought I remembered someone saying that you needed a relay to invert the connection to the brake switch, but a search of multiple threads showed lots of people using the brake switch directly. (White/Black wire)

Back under the dash I go.

Right now I am looking for the best grommet to get outside the car and then deciding how to rout the wires to the back.

FUN FUN FUN.

No relay needed. Did you see my brake controller installation DIY?

It is a real pain in the a** working under that dash.

Yep.
After I posted I though to do a search.

I use to pride myself on installations that looked as good as factory and better than most dealer install kits.

Now, I am proud if I complete the job without breaking something.

(Note: "Something" includes the car, tools, and myself!)

it sounds like you would be better off paying someone to do this type of job for you.
