Default fog light install, covers don't fit

I have a '04 Pilot with the front bumper lower trim. I ordered and received the fog light kit (P/N 08V31-S9V-111A). The installation went well until it came time to connect the fog light covers. The 2 screws don't line up with the holes on the fog light brackets. I know the kit (without trim) has different fog light covers and I'm sure I have the right covers.

Does anyone know if the brackets are different in each kit? Is it possible I got the wrong brackets in my kit?

Thanks,
dw

There are two types of fog lights for the 04' version, one with lower trim one without. The lower trim accessory does not allow for the covers to be installed.

Yes, I have the version with lower trim. The kit comes with different covers that fit into the lower trim. I have the correct covers for sure, they just don't line up with the screw holes on the fog light brackets.

I think somehow my kit came with the wrong brakets. I'm going to call the dealer tomorrow and try to get it corrected.

Thanks,
dw

I found this picture. Obviously, this is a photo of the fog lights without the trim, but it's interesting because the fog light cover looks different then the pic posted by Pilot-Matt.

Correction: this is not where I orderd the kit from. I ordered from HondaPartsCheap.com. I called and requested an exchange but still waiting to hear back.

That is a bad pic.

It was released when the Pilot first came out and shows the "With trim" lights, but with the trim removed (Photoshop wise).

They never existed looking like that.

I talked to the dealer today, they were helpful. At first they wanted me to ship the kit back and they would send out a new one. But, I told them it's already installed so instead they're sending out just the brackets and then I can send back the old ones. So, maybe it will turn out ok.

I'm curious, if I had installed the fog lights before I bought the lower trim and then later I added the trim, is there a kit that allows me to convert the fog lights from w/o trim to w/trim or do I have to buy a whole new kit?
