Default low tech backup sensor

Hi, anyone ever tried these: http://www.jcwhitney.com/K-SOURCE-BA...3205_10101.jcw

Remember seeing these on vans and SUVs in foreign countries. And I saw a picture of something similar from mike688 on his CRV.

I don't think you will be able to see a lot with this tiny mirror. besides if the glass are tinted I don't think you will be able to see anything at all...

You might as well give it a try. My only concern is how it is mounted. Since it's on the outside, I would question how it would hold up in the elements.

My wife just ordered me one of these from Amazon; it's 10x12

I guess I should have had her order the smaller one at 6x8.

They also sell something similar at JCWhitney.

I haven't tried this item yet since it's still being shipped to my house, but I prefer it since it's only 1/3 of the price and mounts on the inside of the vehicle.

I have one of the CIPA lenses on the inside of the rear window in my pickup. I cut the top third off and placed it at the very top of the window. It helped reduce the distance of the blind spot behind the tailgate significantly. Even with the tint on the window, it works well.

Ordered and received the mirror from Amazon for $25. Saw it at B-R-U for $28 if anyone has one near them and is interested. Hopefully can get it stucked on this weekend after I wash the car. This is my low-tech solution for the little one and the other rugrats in the neighborhood.

Thanks, but I actually like these "rear view" mirrors. Probably the only one on this forum. I actually wished Honda (or the other carmakers) had this as an option to drill into the roof of the vehicle. This will be a cheaper option than having back-up cameras as standard equipment if that were ever to happen. Plus, I don't like having all the "stuff" in the car that may break down. Where's the manual window roll-up option?

My BIL's Toyota 4Runner has mirrors built-in to the rear pillars. The design is such that he can see what's behind the vehicle very easily.
