How often should you wax the Pilot? And any suggestions, which brands, etc?

I'd say a minimum of 2x per year. I do it 3 or 4x.

I'd do it when you feel like it. I would do it every 2 months or so especially in the SoCal sunshine!!!

It really depends on a number of things such as the type of wax, whether or not your Pilot is parked in a garage or left outside 24/7, etc. I would say a basic rule of thumb should be, when the water stops beading, wax. Of course beading is not a true indicator of whether or not you have wax left, it will still give you a good idea.

I wax every 4-6 weeks.

Really?! That often...man what a hastle. I guess I better get to it. I'm going to try using the Mcguiar's NXT wax which many other piloteers have recommended.

shudog, that's just me, man. I'm really anal when it comes to the appearance of my rig... that's what ticks my wife off too!

It depends on the wax/polish. I'd say two coats of Zaino with curing accelerator lasts a good six months. So, I did that once last spring and I'll do it again in the next month or so to get me through the winter.

krygny, I use Zaino too for the first time a few months ago and WOW, was I amazed. I'll probably put a couple coats of each in the next week or so.

Twice a year. Once in the spring (for summer protection) and once in the fall (for winter protection). At least that's what I tell myself.

I'd do it whenever it loses it's wet-look shine. But then again I've got one and a half million other things to do. So I adopt the Chess Pilot strategy and wax two times a year, Spring and Fall.
