Default Sticker removal from inside EX Window

May 3 year old has nicely decorated his window of the pilot with a sticker. A big sticker...that rips as you try to take it off.

With the tinted windows...I am afraid you use anything or put a lot of elbow grease to get it off as I do not want to damage the tinting.

I do not know how the windows are tinted, but of previous cars I have had...it did not take much to damage the tinting.

Does anyone have any recommendations to get this sticker off the inside of the tinted window?

Thanks,

Steve Charles

If these windows are anything like my old Mazda MPV, the GLASS is tinted and not a film. You could probably clean it off by trying to soak the sticker with a sponge, then carefully scrape off with an old credit card edge or equivalent.

Just a suggestion since I too have had my kids do artwork on my windows.

I assume we're talking about the factory tinted glass and not the driver/passenger front doors...

Good Luck.

Goo Gone works great for removal of stickers, especially paper-backed ones.

Goo Gone Info.

I usually use the flat edge of a razor blade to get all the paper off, then pull the adhesive residue off with doubled up duct tape or packing tape. If that doesn't work, I use finger nail polish remover. Disclaimer: I have not tried this on the side windows, only the front windshield.

If you're worried about damaging the tinting, try whatever technique you use on a small inconspicuous area (like a corner of the rear quarterpanel glass).

Good luck and let us know how things turn out.

Default WD-40

It dissolves most adhesives and residue. I've heard vinegar works too (if you don't mind your car smelling like a salad) but I've never tried it.

I'd go easy on the WD-40. It's basically kerosene. It won't hurt the glass, but I wouldn't get it on anything else.
