Thought I'd share my totally unscientific, inconclusive, and subjective findings. We've purchased two new family cars this year. The Pilot (our second) has received nothing but NXT. The other,Infiniti G35, has received nothing but Zaino.
Ease of application goes to NXT, as Zaino may be a 2 step process at first, and you must be sure to thoroughly dry and remove all water spots before appying. Removal is also about the same, although I'd give a slight edge to Zaino. NXT smells better (if it matters) Quality..I think its unfair to compare the quality results (I'm pleased with both products) since vehicles are different colors and have different quality finishes. I've been disappointed in the quality of the Pilot's (silver) paint job. Also, based on prior experience with NXT, it really seems to perform better on darker colors. I'd give edge to Zaino for final result. Durability... I must say that Zaino wins here...hands down...the NXT just does not hold up as long. Conclusion: make your own. The application process of Zaino can be intimidating, until you try it and realize it is quite simple. Also the cost factor must be taken into account, as well as how much you like or dislike waxing/polishing the car.

It appears there's a consensus out there that NXT just doesn't last very long. I've heard of people having to reapply after just 4-6 weeks.

Thanks for the post!
I posted a Zaino/NXT comparo on the MDX board; used it on the black X and on the diamond graphite (dark silver metallic) G35c. Can't remember whether I mentioned it over here, so here's the linK: http://www.acuramdx.org/forums/showt...&highlight=nxt Durability w/the NXT took a real beating. The initial result was very good (in fact, good enough that I said I preferred NXT to Zaino -- on black -- immediately after application), but 4 weeks for a polymer sealant is the $hits, and the degradation of shine/reflection/etc occured before it was all gone @ 4 weeks. I won't use it again. My fave combo remains Zaino with an S100 topper. |

Has anyone compared Eagle 1 Nano wax to Zaino? Was just about to go buy some NXT, but if it doesn't last, what's the point. I've used Mequires Cleaner Wax with great, longlasting results for years, but I recently discovered "claying" and don't need the abrasives with the wax. Clayed the wife's Scubaru a couple weeks ago, and the difference in shine is amazing. Can't wait to clay the Pilot.
