Default Step Stool

My wife keeps her kitchen step stool in the garage so it's no problem for me - I just steal it for 20 minutes.

Good excuse to buy side steps (or running boards) if you don't have them.

I'm too lazy to use a step. That's just one more thing to put up after getting finished.

I stand on top of the rear tires to get the back half and then finish the front half from the running boards.

Just go to Walmart and get a Detailers Choice (or other brand) wash mitt on a pole that extends about 5 feet. Wash, rinse, then put a microfiber towel under a squeezed out mitt and move it back and forth to dry. Worked for me.

You can't do THAT! Why use a $4 general purpose cleaning implement, when what's required is a specialized $12 detailing accessory?

Diesel

I'm <6'1" and use a Werner (made in USA) 2' aluminum step ladder, when washing, waxing, and detailing my roof and windshield. It's stored in the cargo bay.

Though I have running boards, standing on it doesn't afford me the reach to get everything topside speck-less or gives me the leverage to 'power' in the wax. The use of a short step ladder allows me to do so.

Have a good weekend!

I went to a body shop and asked them what type of brush they used on a pole to wash the cars before they are delivered back to their customers after accident repairs. They showd me a soft brush that fits on the end of a screw type handle, works great for top or the entire car. I have used it for years, rinses clean, drys well, plastic head won't rot, hose the soap out when your are done and stand up to dry.

I use a tire step ladder if I wash and wax the Pilot. If I clay the roof, then I use a 4 feet step ladder.

Who sees the roof?

Seriously though, I stand on the side steps for the front half and step up on the rear tire for the rest. I always put an extra coat of polish on the roof and hood because the horizontal surfaces take more of a beating from the weather.
