Most people buy at least one black vehicle in their lifetime. For most people, one is enough!

Amen. I bought a '93 Mercury Sable, my first and last black vehicle, and later bought 4 consecutive white vehicles.

I with the rest you on the Black vehicle. Yet I have never owned myself, I have had my fair share of touchy colors. Now I drive white, stills has its pitfalls though. Bug splat, road tar in my case, the wonderful AZ dust storm followed by a misting of rain, ahhh the memories of spending 3 hours cleaning to have it all taken away in 10 minutes. I was a good 10 minutes though.

On a side bar to the topic, what kind of cleaning products do you use?

i've had 2 black vehicles... 1 was the Lancer Evolution, 2 was a Jetta 1.8T... the Jetta was a beater car so i never really worried about keeping the exterior clean...

the Evo...? ugh, what a headache that thing was... you clean it, and the next morning there was a film of dust on it...

I used to use Zymol car wash, but i can no longer find it anywhere... so i'm going to give this rain-x car wash a shot... see how it performs...

I'm partial to the Eagle One Wet series of products, others have tried the new Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax with good success, and a good number like the Zaino stuff, but it's a of of work. I get exhausted just reading posts about using Zaino.

I have not used the Zaino, myself either. I use Meguiares all the time, on mine and when I detail for my friends. I find it very easy to use especially with thier Dual Action Polisher. On my Pilot I have used thier Gold Class liquid wax from day one and my paint is smoother than glass. Brklynprince I read you clay bared yours, was the paint in that bad of condition that you had to go that far already? Or was it just something you felt neccessary? I have considered doing mine but have not had the time yet.

The first vehicle I'd ever clayed was the Pilot. I was so impressed, that the first chance I could, I clayed the RX 330. It was worth the effort, even on a brand new vehicle, to get the surface properly prepped.

i agree that Zaino is more hassle than it's worth, unless you live in a climate where it hardly ever rains, and is in the 70's with partly cloudy skys all the time... (San Diego)...

For us here in the Tri-State area, by the time you get it washed and waxed, it's probably starting raining or something...

Zaino = show car wax... not everyday vehicle...

Between my husband and myself we have owned 4 black cars. 89 accord-lxi, 92 accord-ex, 2003 pilot ex-res, and a 2003 acura tl-s. True the black does get dirty fast, but when you wash and shine a black car you can use it as a mirror. I love the black cars and i think i will always stick to black, or maybe i might sway and try red someday.
