2006 Night Hawk Pearl Detailing Project

I've read up on some detailing and here's my plan. I have a Silver dollar size rust spot on my hood and some lite denting on driver side fender by signal light. Any advice or feedback appreciated.

1. wash car
2. clay bar (how big a piece?)
3. repair rust with a kit (sand,prime,paint,clear coat)
4. polish (what kind for Night Hawk pearl)
5. touch up paint any metal exposed and let dry
6. wax or sealant?
7. restore all plastic trim

Any corrections on the order of actions or sugestions on products please let me know. I have the meguiar's wash and wax kit.
